As we celebrate our bicentenary year in 2024, we are delighted to relaunch the Angostura® Global Cocktail Challenge. This marks the beginning of a new dialogue with the bartending community as we search for the next generation of champions worldwide.

Our theme for this year's challenge is... A journey through time... a celebration of 200 years of Angostura, bartending and classic cocktails.

Back in February we hosted the UK National Final of the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge at The Gate in Glasgow.

This exciting event brought together the top three finalists, selected from across the UK, all vying for the opportunity to represent the UK at the global finals in Trinidad ...later this year.

After an intense and closely contested final, Callum George Huxtable Lister from the Commons Club in Edinburgh was crowned the winner, with Leighton Edward Rathbone from Lyon’s Seafood and Wine in London in second, and Lee Joseph Stewart from The Last Bookstore in third.

Congratulations again to all the finalists, and we can’t wait to see Callum represent the UK on the global stage!

Make it yourself 👇

Ingredients (per serving):
- 1 egg white or aquafaba
- 3/4 oz of blood orange juice
- 2 oz of vodka (or gin)
- 1/2 oz of lemon juice
... - 1/2 oz of honey
- 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® orange bitters
- blood orange to garnish

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and dry shake to start, to create the foam. Then add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a slice of blood orange.
