A blend of citrus essence, oils from bitter and sweet oranges, herbs and spices has produced bitters with a depth of citrus flavour that can transform a wide range of cocktails.

Wonderfully versatile and excellent in savoury dishes, particularly seafood. Orange bitters pairs perfectly with... vodka gin and whisky - the original 1930's classic Gin martini certainly calls for a dash!

Created by Salvatore Calabrese at cocktail bar Nahaté in Dubai, UAE, the €37,500 cocktail featured a special edition Patrón blend that combines three ‘exceptional’ aged Tequilas, alongside ...Kina Lillet from 1950, and our ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters, served in one of the rarest 1937 Baccarat crystal glasses ever crafted in honour of crystal maker Baccarat’s 260th anniversary.

@GordieGinQueen brought the Old Cuban recipe to life from our book, Classic Cocktails and Fancy Drinks.

INGREDIENTS
6 fresh mint leaves
20ml fresh lime juice
30ml simple syrup
45ml golden rum (we like Angostura® 1919 rum)
2 dashes of Angostura® aromatic bitters
...60ml Champagne

METHOD
1. Muddle the mint leaves with the lime juice and sugar syrup in
a cocktail shaker.
2. Add the rum, bitters and some ice and shake well for around
15 seconds until frothy.
3. Strain into a coupe glass and top with Champagne.
4. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.
3. Strain into glass.
4. Top with beer.
5. Garnish with orange slice.

Back in February we hosted the UK National Final of the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge at The Gate in Glasgow.

This exciting event brought together the top three finalists, selected from across the UK, all vying for the opportunity to represent the UK at the global finals in Trinidad ...later this year.

After an intense and closely contested final, Callum George Huxtable Lister from the Commons Club in Edinburgh was crowned the winner, with Leighton Edward Rathbone from Lyon’s Seafood and Wine in London in second, and Lee Joseph Stewart from The Last Bookstore in third.

Congratulations again to all the finalists, and we can’t wait to see Callum represent the UK on the global stage!
